Friendly Fill-ins: Week 88

We are happy you are here for another week of friendly sharing! As always, you can find the fill-ins here and at 15andmeowing.com each Thursday. On Fridays, we post the link for sharing. You are welcome to answer in the comments, but if you link up, more people can share.

What a week. Kenzie went from bad to worse. But, she seems to be responding to the antibiotics well, now. Kidney infections are tricky, especially with age.

The minions will be six months old next week. Bee is recovering well from her spaying. She is very healthy and doing quite well. Clyde’s news was not good. His pre-surgical testing revealed a very serious congenital heart condition. Clyde’s journey will be very different than Bee’s. However, both will be filled with love and joy.

Please be good to You. Love each other and those furkids, just as they are. Time is never promised.

1. I would like to ask some people why they seem to have no conscience. It seems some people can say or do whatever they want, with no regard to how it affects others. I do not understand that, nor do I think that I can.

2. My favorite fast food restaurant is any small local diner. You cannot beat the ambiance of small local places. The food, the people, the décor…they are the best.

3. If I could go to any concert of someone still performing, it would be …very hard to choose one. I would love to see Carlos Santana, John Fogerty, Joan Baez, Carole King, and Jeff Lynne's ELO, among others. It would also be a privilege to see Willie or George Thorogood, again.

4. My Winter pastime is usually reading, writing, or organizing things, because I am inside so much of the time. I can focus on each thing (almost) without interruption.

  1. What a week! It was great to hear Kenzie was better but just so devastating to hear about Clyde. HOWEVER, Clyde is a trooper and is full of love and fun and I think he intends to just keep on being Clyde - having fun, being a lovebug, and he doesn't know anything other than love in return. I agree that winter is the best time to do all those things that we don't want to be bothered doing when the weather is nice - closet cleaning, cabinet organizing, planning your spring garden. "For every season there's a reason" !! Happy Friday.

    Hugs, Pam and Teddy too

    1. Clyde is a trooper. His symptoms are not noticeable (unless you know), yet. So, he has adapted because it is normal for him. Thank you for being there. I agree with you about Winter purging! Hugs.

  3. Howdy Annie!

I'm here this morning. *applauds* When I skip a week it seems like an eternity! :) I love all your cat memes, especially the one about one's high school mewsic playing on an oldie station. It's really funny to think that it is the new "oldie" mewsic. When I was growing up, it was the 50s. lol I would like to Carlos Santana and I almost said him in my response but then I thought about it then decided there is not concert worth it to me to see because of the loud and crowd. Thanks for hosting the Friday fun, my friend. The cold is returning to East Tennessee tonight which I'm not looking forward to! Have a good weekend!

    1. Yea. I miss you when you skip a week. Santana...yeah, I would go! Europa is my favourite. It makes me cry, it is so beautiful and heartfelt. It takes a very special guitar player to make it sound like it is crying like that. Check it out: Europa

    2. Annie,

I have a Santana CD and Europa is one of the songs on the disc. You're right, it's a very beautiful and heartfelt piece. It always leaves me in a somber mood after hearing it and I certainly understand how it can move you to tears.

  4. Many people need a conscience cat, i wonder if they would listen, though. Although i picked more modern groups that are still touring and that play mostly Christian music, i wouldn't mind hearing any of the artists you mentioned, either. Sweetie commented that he heard Jimmy Hendrix on the Muzak in the grocery store the other day.

Praying Clyde has a wonderful life with you, and i know with you, he has his best chance.

    1. Jimi Hendrix must have rolled over in his grave. Ack! No, that is just wrong: Muzak.
Mimi, that is the nicest thing to say to me about Clyde. *tears* Thank you. HUGS.

  5. Great answers as always. We have similar winter past times. Doing anything inside is always best for me.

I'm so sorry about Clyde's heart condition. Prayers and hugs for all your kitties and for you too :)

  6. I hope that antibiotic continues to work for Kenzie. I wish we had a small diner around here, but it's mostly fast food and chain restaurants. Ick. I would love to see Willie Nelson in concert, and Jeff Lynne's ELO too!

    1. Well, wouldn't it be great to all go to a concert together? Now, that would be fun!

  7. My favorite fast food restaurant is In-N-Out Burger. I'll have the double double burger. I could eat one right now. Okay I'm hungry.

Aw on the kitties. So cute.

Have a purrfect Feline Friday. Big hug. ♥

  8. You have had a tough week with Clyde's sad news. I know he is in the best hands to keep him happy and hopefully healthy too for a long time. Great fill-ins, I hope you get to see Fogerty. He never disappoints, we have seen him 3 times. I wonder how he gets the energy at his age to keep jumping as he is playing his guitar. I love diners too, there is one about 30 minutes away we love to go to for blueberry pancakes. Have a nice weekend! XO

  9. I am sending prayers to Kenzie and Clyde, and all of you! Your fubabies are all so lucky to have you.

And your fill-ins are, as always, fantastic. I really appreciate how you answered #1, as it really is disheartening to see and hear of so many people who completely disregard the thoughts and feelings of others. I always wonder what makes them think they're so special that they can act in such a way. I almost put nearly the exact same thing for my #4 as well. I am doing a lot of reading, writing, and organizing on these cold days. Wishing you and your family a blessed weekend!

  11. Excellent answers. As for disrespectful folks I can't help but think of online 'trolls'. I can't appreciate that behavior but a Youtube content creator I admire believes that it keeps those people from acting out in the real world. Don't know if that makes you feel better, but the wisdom of Styxhexenhammer666 tends to give me an improved outlook on the world. ~hugs~ You know, I'm just excited for my upcoming Palaye Royale concert. Woot!

    1. Darla, I cannot agree. I have seen how those (trolls) who partake of certain things, like porn, actually do act out it. I think those who dwell on things that are not healthy incorporate them into their daily lives over time. Again, this has been my life experience. Of course, it hurts others. But, those without a conscience do not care about others. Woo-hoo for your concert! HUGS.

    2. You make good points. ~hugs back~ Oh, and I promise to keep my seedier Internet activities on the page. ~grin~ Writing research, you know?

And thanks for the kind words on my blog. I had to laugh at myself because I did a double take when I read 'Mayo'. My silly and lucky self not much experienced with hospitals, I thought of the condiment. ~shakes head~ Sorry you had to deal with that. Hope everyone stays healthy as possible!

    3. Darla, I adore you. You keep writing. Just be careful with the research. Not everyone is as nice as you are.

I must say, both the condiment and clinic (Mayo) are good. And, they have nothing to do with each other. *wink*

      HUGS, dear one.

  12. I'm with you on #1 although I may have had a different interpretation due to a flippant remark yesterday made by someone famous. TW has seen Fogarty and Baez and they're both marvelous performers. Creedence is a personal fave of her's.

    1. As for flippant remarks made by famous people, they are just that: People. What we say affects others, and each situation is just as important. I cannot count the things famous people say that are hurtful. But, the ones closest to home are the most painful, to my experience. Words have power. We need to mind our own, because that is all we can do. Peace.

  14. Poor Clyde. He's such a character!
I agree with your first answer. I truly don't get people without any care of how they affect other people. The worst is the excuse, "Well, I didn't mean it - I was just mad! Why can't you just let it go?" Like not meaning it makes it not be said. Maybe my conscience is over-active ... but if I wouldn't want someone to do or say something to me ... I wouldn't do or say it to anyone else!

  16. Great answers Annie,
#1,I know someone like that who doesn't think before she opens her mouth.
#2. My favorite fast food restaurant is William' Seafood . Everything is made from scratch.
#3 If I was to attend a concert, which I never did in my life... it would be Pentatonix. I love that they sing acapella .
Some of my favorites are Mary did you know and Hallelujah.
#4 In winter I usually hook rugs, hand quilt, knit, crochet, read and blog.

    Prayers for Kenzie and Clyde.
    Hugs, Julia

  17. I agree with your answer to #1, and it's uncannily timely.

Your gif of Clyde, the Water Boy is cute. Since he loves water so much, does he put his toys in his water bowl? One of my kitties used to do that.
