Sparks: 14

When I began blogging, it was my intent to post an inspirational thought each Monday. It would be my weekly meditation, and perhaps feed another’s spirit as well. I am always inspired by the positive energy of my peers.

Sadly, the negative energy in the world has become thick and oppressive. Social media has become a serious part of this dark, negative storm. There is an obvious universal need for more positive energy. We do not have to succumb to the negativity. We can all be part of the change we wish to see in the world, to quote Gandhi.

I believe we are meant to be lights in this world. If we allow our light to shine, we can see where we are going. It is then that we can begin to truly see each other clearly. Together, we can light up the entire world!

I invite you to join us. Please link up a positive quote, thought, poem, story, or verse.  Be creative; be positive. Remember to add the Sparks badge to your post. We want to invite others to add their Sparks. The more, the merrier! Peace be with you throughout this new year.

  2. Happy Monday! I like your quote today - if we don't START we will never FINISH....if we don't TRY we will never SUCCEED. My quote today has a similar message. I can remember when I was young being a little afraid to try new things but I'm awfully glad I "got over" that. I wouldn't be who I am today if I'd never lit my candle.

  3. Annie,

Good quote! Yes, we need to burn our light in order for others to see it just like the little children's song goes, "This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine....Hide it under a bushel? No! I'm gonna let it shine...Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine!" Thanks for hosting the positive energy each Monday, my friend. Have a great week!

  4. What a profound and true sentiment this is. Being a light in the world isn't always easy, but it is a beautiful thing nonetheless. Thank you for hosting this wonderful blog hop!

  5. And yet giving the light is such a joy that it's worth the burning. Hugs!

  6. I love your Spark quote today. It reminds me of quote that we used when I was an instructor for the Christopher Leadership Course in effective public Speaking and it was this..." It's better to light a candle than to curse the darkness".
Sharing the light doesn't diminish it's brightness. May your light burns bright.
Thinking of Kenzie. Hugs, Julia ❤️

  10. Knowing full well what day it is I totally forgot about creating a spark. ~sigh~ My mind is blank on the matter, so I think I'll move on to fiction writing and see if something percolates. This is a great quote. It reminds me of the facetious, "Better to burn out than face away." ~grin~ Hope you're having a great start to the week!

  14. I'd never heard this before and I love it. It reminds me of a quote about lighting other lights from your own and not losing anything - might have to find it for next week. Have a great week Annie.

  15. I love this blog hop and I am working on my first entry for it however due to time constraints I won't be able to post it until tomorrow. Yes, here in Blogville and all around the world we could all use more inspirational quotes. I share them on Facebook whenever I find them. Now I can share them here too!

  19. Another great quote. When I read it, I think of all the talented artists and writers who suffer from devastating illnesses, yet give the world so much beauty.

  22. I like this quote on many levels. As painful as it is to have to "burn," it usually results in more strength and clarity in life. Very insightful spark to begin the year.
